FAQS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Commission Questions

1. What does the commission status mean?

Open – I’m actively accepting offers for commission requests and am likely available to answer questions.
(I usually announce this on social media.)
Entertaining Offers – Commissions are open but not my main priority. I’m probably working on other projects simultaneously
(potentially other commissions or personal works,)
but I’m accepting offers for casual submissions through the form.
Closed – I’m not currently accepting offers for commissions. You are welcome to make inquiries but I’m likely too busy and replies may be slow.

2. How do I commission you?

The Commission tab contains my Commissions Menu (what I offer), as well as answers to the most common commission related questions or FAQs (you are here.)
Assuming I’m open for commissions, all you really need to do is take a look at the menu, decide what you would like, and then fill out a
Commission Request Form.
I recommend consulting my  Will / Won’t Draw list, and my TOS before you submit your form.
If I accept your commission request, we will discuss the exact price, timeframe, and any other important details required to complete your commission.
If you have any questions that the commissions tab doesn’t answer, please feel free to ask me personally.

3. How many commission requests can I submit?

You may submit requests for up to 2 (two) potential commissions at once. (If you submit more than two I will only review two of them, excess submissions will be removed.)
If I finish a commission (or two) for you, and you are interested in submitting more requests after that I will happily allow it, but no single person can have more than two active request forms at one time.
That being said, I get a lot of commission requests and regrettably my time is too little to be able to grab absolutely everyone.
I try to vary commission types as well as commissioners so I’m not always drawing the same things for the same people.
I hope to have a chance to work with you!

4. I submitted a commission request through the form, when can I expect to hear back?

Generally I check my email at least twice a day (morning and evening), so I should be aware of your submission fairly quickly!
I endeavor to respond as quickly as I am reasonably able, my average response time is within 5 days.
If I intend to accept the commission, you will hear back from me within a maximum of 2 weeks.
If you happen to send in a submission on one of my days off
(or if I happen to be particularly busy at the time) It may take me a few extra days to consider your offer and  give it the full attention it deserves.

5. Is there any way I can increase my chance of getting picked for a commission?

I will always prioritize work I’m interested in painting.
The Will / Won’t Draw list is extensive and should give you a pretty good idea of the kinds of commissions I’m seeking by default.
If you’re looking to catch me in the right mood for something specific I’ll very often list what my desired “flavor of the month” is.
(Including desired commission types / themes etc.)
Otherwise the best advice I can give is to ensure your submission doesn’t contain anything from my NOs list.

6. Commissions are currently closed, when can I expect the next opening?

Unless I’ve formally announced commission openings I probably don’t have any planned yet.
If you want to message me while commissions are closed to make an offer you may. That being said I’m not always available, (very often I’m genuinely too busy) but if I like your offer I can either try to squeeze you in or put you on my waitlist for my next available time slot!
Watch for the “Entertaining Offers” commission status, I don’t usually announce it, but it’s open much more frequently without announcement.
If you would like priority email notifications about commission openings (before anyone else), you are welcome to subscribe to my email notifications using any of the subscribe links, (like the one at the very bottom of this page.)

7. Can I get on your private waitlist?

Not unless I offer it to you unprompted. It’s not very long or exciting, It’s usually just one or two people who had great ideas that I didn’t want to pass up but didn’t immediately have enough time for.
I’m not someone who’s booked out for a whole year or anything like that. My preferred painting interests fluctuate somewhat month to month so I prefer to stay flexible, plus I don’t like keeping people waiting.
The free email notification subscription is the closest thing to a public waitlist that I offer.

8. What do I get if I subscribe?

If you subscribe to the commission openings notifications
(using the form at the bottom of the page labeled “get on the list” or the floating page linked on social media.)
You will receive priority notifications of commission openings before anyone else. Newsletter subscribers get to submit their applications and have a chance to get accepted before I announce leftover openings on social media.
You will also gain exclusive access to special subscriber-only discounts (like lower price quotes) and / or sales, (whichever I feel like offering at any given point in time.)
You are welcome to subscribe and un-subscribe whenever you like and as often as you like so you only get notifications when you want them.
I don’t plan to send a lot of emails. You won’t get “news” or anything other than advance notifications about commission openings, probably no more than 4 times a year if not less since I plan to only announce them quarterly or seasonally, plus I’m not always open for commissions all year every year.
I don’t think pay-walls are the best solution for the easygoing environment I’d like to offer. And considering my slots are so limited I don’t want people to have to pay just to sit around hoping they get lucky enough to get picked (like with a p*treon), so I felt like a free newsletter style subscription was a better way to go.
If you don’t check your email at all, you are welcome to wait for social media announcements but slots always fill up fast.

If you subscribe to the Knights Eternal Updates
(currently found only on the comics tab.)
You will receive notifications about the Knights Eternal comic launch, (when it launches) as well as notifications of new books and significant chapter updates within the series.
This list is not connected to the commissions emailing list, you can subscribe to one or both, but it has to be done separately.

9. I'm on a budget, can we negotiate / do you accept payment plans?

Assuming I like your commission prompt yes.
I’m a reasonable person, make me a reasonable offer and I’m likely to accept. I’m also a sucker for good looking characters, if you know I like your character, you’ve already got that going for you.
Payment plans are available for commissions over $200 at my discretion, I will do my best to be accommodating within reason. The shorter the length and / or higher the payments, the more likely I am to accept.
Please be aware that no work will start until I have received the full amount.

10. How are your commissions priced?

I quote based on the time required to complete a piece at a rate of about $20 USD per hour.
The “Starting prices” are the minimum, and I have done my best to estimate the average maximum.
You will receive a final quote once we’ve discussed your commission and determined exactly what you need.
More characters, advanced backgrounds, and highly detailed scenes will cost quite a bit more than a simple portrait or speed-paint because they simply take more time.
|
Things I don’t charge and / or  quote less for.
Complex characters (within reason.) Unless your character has a truly exceptional level of detail, I don’t charge for things like patterns, accessories, clothing etc. I just give you a flat price based on how long the piece will take me to paint.
(If the character / outfit is cool enough I may quote less just because I want to paint it more.)
Small / minor edits (at my discretion.)
Subject matter I enjoy.
NSFW / Extreme content.
If I can post / credit the image you commissioned.
Generally the more artistic freedom you give me, the cheaper it will be.
I do not charge for hours I do not spend working. You might get more time than you paid for (free of charge) but never less. If I’m having fun with your piece I often toss on a few extra hours to polish the image for free!
Really cool repeat customers often get priority / lower quotes and occasional freebies.
|
Things I charge extra for
Rush orders.
Alternate versions of the same image, like additional SFW / NSFW versions.
(Charged by the number of alternate images required and the difficulty to create them.)
Large or numerous un-planned alterations / edits.
Subject matter I don’t have an interest in painting.
Less artistic freedom. I don’t mind working with clients, but if I have to check a lot of info or stop to get approval at every stage, it eats up a lot of extra time.
If I can’t post the image I create for you anywhere. (No-post / privacy fee.) More information can be found in the “Privacy” section of my TOS.
Commercial rights.

11. Payment methods / how do I pay?

Assuming your commission was accepted, payment information will be given to you once I know exactly what you would like, and we have agreed on a price.
Please be aware I only take payments in $USD at this time.
I’m currently looking for some reasonable alternatives to “P@y – P@II”, but safe reliable payment processing for NSFW creators may still be a ways off.
This site is not currently set up to accept direct payments. (YET. I’m working on that!)
By paying for your commission, you are agreeing to my terms of service, which can be found HERE.
If you have any payment related questions I am happy to answer them via email [email protected] .

12. Turnaround time / how long do your commissions take?

Turnaround times may vary depending on the size and detail level of your commission.
3 word speedpaints are typically done within a maximum of 2 weeks, usually faster (sometimes just a few days.)
Half- and three quarter-body portraits are usually done within 1-3 weeks.
Full body paintings, illustrations, and multiple-character works may take 3-5 weeks or more depending on the level of detail.
I will give you a more precise time estimate depending on my current workload and the specifics of the project when we work out your commission details.

13. What will I actually receive / what is the quality of your finished images like?

Generally you will receive a larger high-quality file at full resolution as well as a smaller sized-down version for easy sharing / posting.
All the files I give you will be PNG’s at 300 DPI (unless requested otherwise.)
My default canvas size is 9000 x 12000 px for most portraits, which is a standard 3:4 Ratio for easy framing.
If printed, that comes out to 40 x 30 inches, or 76.2 x 101.6 cm. I also like working at 2:3 (8000 x 12000 px) and 16:9 (6750 x 12000 px.)
I pick whatever supports the composition best so results may vary slightly.
Point being, your HQ image will be big and luscious with plenty of ability to scroll in and see the details. I won’t leave you with a tiny crispy jpg.
Custom sizes and specific file-types are available upon request. I may allow discounts for smaller canvases at my discretion since they are faster to paint.
You are also welcome to request a signed version of anything you commission if you would like an “unwatermarked” version.
All public posts are given large watermarks for credit / protection.

14. Do I need a reference sheet (or other visual reference) to commission you?

You do not need a reference sheet to commission me, I will happily work off of other commissioned images of your character.
Unless your commission is “complete artistic freedom” I will require references or detailed descriptions of any Character/s you want included, as well as any other critically important clothing, props, items, environments etc. (Any really specific details you don’t want to to leave up me.)
Please be sure that your references are accurate; I cannot be held responsible for errors made due to inaccurate reference material or descriptions.
I cannot accept images of other people’s characters, nor can I copy or heavily reference characters / materials you do not own for any type of commission.
I am happy to work off of text-only descriptions in the case of design-work, but all other commission types require some form of visual reference.

15. I don't see the type of commission I want on the menu, can I ask for something else?

I’m happy to entertain offers for off-menu items on a case by case basis.
Please be aware I don’t do sketches or character references (ref-sheets).
Why NO Sketches? – I don’t have a linework-based style that I’m happy with as a finished product YET. (I’m working on it, but not yet.)
So a “sketch” from me is pretty much just a speed paint, and would be priced the same.
Why NO Ref-sheets? – I do make them for myself, but the armored ref-sheets with clothing layers (and similar) that you might see me post take several weeks to make, so unfortunately I don’t yet have a way to price them efficiently for most budgets.
It should also be noted that the menu already consists of all the commission types I particularly enjoy painting and was designed to keep things simple and easy to estimate. (Therefore quotes for off-menu items may vary.)

16. I REALLY want something (right now / that you don't offer / that you don't like painting) Is there any possible way to convince you?

I’ll be the first person to tell you I’m chronically bribe-able, but I’m neither cheap nor easy to buy.
I am truly genuinely busy quite often, and I love my default work.
My days are spent writing comics and painting my beloved characters. Any commission work I take on is time away from my personal projects
(and wears on my fragile wrists) so it has to be worth my while if I’m going to justify it.
Hard NOs (especially in kink content) are always no’s I won’t budge on those.

17. What is a good / tempting offer?

Normal commissions at the usual price only interest me if I happen to have both time and the desire for some extra spending cash.
(I usually just open for commissions formally if this is the case.)
1.5X (One and 1/2) the usual price is a very pleasant offer.
2X  (Double) Has my attention / tells me you’re serious.
3X (Triple) tells me you’re very seriously interested in something special and will (almost always) get you just about anything you want.
If you are specifically interested in something I don’t normally enjoy painting, I probably won’t touch it for less than 1.5 – 2X the usual price.
Hard NOs (especially in kink content) are always NOs I won’t budge on those.

18. I have a really Strange / Niche / Thirsty commission I'm afraid to ask about...

I try to remain professional in conversation, people generally find me very chill with a well-fed sense of humor.
If you want something crazy, obscene or just downright thirsty AF by all means lay it on me, please just ask.
I really have seen it all at this point so nothing is awkward to me.
Every ounce of painting skill I have was specially cultivated to draw my own characters in lusty nonsense scenarios so I have no place or desire to judge.
As a professional it’s never my goal to make you feel uncomfortable, even if I’m “not in to it” myself; I’m happy to hear about other peoples interests.

19. Do you have a commission queue so I can check your progress?

Not currently. My communication and overall turnaround are too fast to really need one.
Commissioners always know what’s up and when to expect updates etc. so it’s never been an issue.
